GRUPO DE BAILE MUNAYKI PERÚ

The folk group Munayki comes from the city of Arequipa, located in the south of Peru in the Andes, at above 2300 meters of altitude. This group promotes the art, culture and friendship through a broad repertoire of choreographies, which represent the various regions of the country. Munayki performs folk dances from the coast, from Amazonia, from the region of the Andes of course, but also scenes representing the Afro-Peruvian people and the Incas. This group also sings in Quechua, the indigenous language spoken in the Peruvian mountains by the country’s native people. These songs are accompanied by traditional musical instruments such as the Quena (flute) or the Zampoña (pan flute).
