FOLKLÓRNY SÚBOR ŽELEZIAR (FS ŽELEZIAR)

The group Železiar has been active on the Slovak folk scene since 1964. It focuses on the popular art of some regions located in the surroundings of the city of Kosice. This ensemble is well known for its high-quality interpretation of folk dances and music, combined with its female choir. Its orchestra, which uses a wide variety of musical instruments, represents the culture from the Eastern regions of the country. Železiar may amaze, surprise, trigger discussions, entertain or make one cry, but it will always strive to spread and preserve its art in the purest tradition.

> Slovakia is one of the European countries with the highest population share of Romani people. Many Slovak dances represent the folklore of the Travellers.
