JUTHOOR

The folk dance group “Juthoor”  is part of the Cultural Centre of Al-Doha in the region of Betlehem. The aim of this young group, founded in 2007, is to preserve the cultural and social identity inPalestine.  The some 20 dancers and 5 musicians will show us an Arab culture rarely seen in Fribourg.

The group  “Elenco Tradicionalista e Folclórico Aldebarã” comes from the city ofCascavel  located in theprovinceofParanain southern Brazil. The group presents a mainly  Gaucho program influenced  by the every day life of the Cowboys of the Pampas as well as some dances of the region of Rio punctuated by the traditional Samba of Janeiro.

TAIWAN FOLK MUSIC ENSEMBLE

The group “Taiwan Folk Music Ensemble” joins us from  the capital Taipei and made up of about twenty dancers and  an orchestra of no fewer than 14 musicians. The repertoire consists of traditional- and classical dance motifs inspired  notably by the ancient Taiwanese Aborigines.
